On 10 September 2021, in Yelets, the leadership of the IPA Russian Section took part in the official opening of the Monument to Alexander Khvostov, born in Yelets, a former prosecutor general, as well as the minister of internal affairs of the Russian Empire. The event was held under the aegis of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Lipetsk region. With the approaching celebration of the 300th anniversary of the agency in 2022, the grand opening pays tribute to the memory of one of the last prosecutors general of the tsarist government. He took this post in the most difficult pre-revolutionary time, when the country was sinking into crisis and the Russian army was haunted by failures during the First World War, chaos was reigning in the troops.

After the opening of the monument and laying flowers at the Eternal Flame, President of the IPA Russian Section Yury Zhdanov made a report on the topic ‘Topical Issues of Fighting Cyber Fraud in the Russian Federation’ at the International scientific and practical conference. The conference was held as part of the festive events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Prosecutor’s Office of Russia and the 165th anniversary of the birth of Prosecutor General of the Russian Empire A. Khvostov.
